Why Kannauj
The oldest perfume city you've never heard of
Long before Grasse, Kannauj was distilling rose and vetiver for the Mughal court. Aromise works with the same family-run degs — some fired continuously for generations.

The Craft
Four steps from petal to perfume
Nothing about our process is fast, and that is the point.

Gather at dawn
Flowers and spices are picked before sunrise — saffron in Pampore, mogra in Bengal — while their oils are still asleep in the petals.

Distil in copper
In Kannauj, the botanicals steam slowly in traditional copper degs over wood fire, the same hydro-distillation used for a thousand years.

Rest in sandalwood
The attars mature for months in leather-sealed sandalwood-oil bases, deepening the way a raga deepens with each phrase.

Compose the accord
Our perfumers layer each region's story — top, heart and base — into a modern eau de parfum that wears for hours, not minutes.
